Digital Inclusion
The Learning Community has been a prime Provider to the Rotherham Social Prescribing Project since 2016. Since this time we have supported 100’s ‘ of digitally excluded learners learn IT skills and learn about technology. Our learners range from the age of 18 to 97 and our delivery tends to be in people’s homes for convenience to them. Our referrals come from GP surgeries, SPS Advisors and Link Workers
We take Referrals
We also take referrals from a number of other agencies for our support to be delivered. Again, this can be in a learner’s home on a 1-1 basis or in a Community Hub, Library, GP Surgery or Centre and may be in a group setting.
We have a small amount of equipment we can loan to those without to aid learning and this can be anything from a tablet, internet connection or mobile phone device. We also have equipment that we are able to give and this can include Sim cards or limited specialist equipment for those with disabilities. We work closely with Providers such as Ability Net to source this equipment to ensure no one is put at a disadvantage. Sometimes we are even given a bundle of tablets to give out to those in need.
Good Things Foundation since 2005
We have been a provider to the Good Things Foundation since 2005 and are a UK Online Distributer, delivering many projects to include Learn My Way, Make It Click, Future Learn, NHS Health and Wellbeing and accessing the Data Bank to provide data access to those in need.
